--

A round-table discussion1 exploring some, or many of the ideas in the book "The Courage to be Disliked".

Including the benefit of looking forward, exploring the meaning of our choices, rather than looking back into the past for the cause of present malaise, upset, difficulty etc.

Discussion of the practical benefits, and the effectiveness of teleology  -- "the study of the purpose of a given phenomenon, rather than its cause" as per the work of Alfred Adler, et al.

Some quotes from the book:

No experience is in itself a cause of our success or failure. We do not suffer from the shock of our experiences— the so-called trauma— but instead we make out of them whatever suits our purposes. We are not determined by our experiences, but the meaning we give them is self-determining.’

Real-world application for current issues can be explored.
